A housing company in Tampere decided to implement an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to meet the residents’ needs cost-effectively. The goal was to ensure easy future scalability, efficient load management, and simple administration for the housing company.

To provide a comprehensive charging solution, the housing company installed a charging infrastructure in its parking garage, which contains 48 parking spaces. Ten residents opted for pre-installed INCH PRO charging stations, complete with tap off box. They could choose between a Type 2 socket model or a five-meter fixed-cable version. To future-proof the charging infrastructure, all parking spaces were equipped with charging readiness through the installation of two 160 A EAE MK busbar systems. This setup allows for easy expansion by adding new chargers as needed. The site operates on a 400 A electrical connection, providing ample power supply for the charging infrastructure.

The housing company implemented a local dynamic load management system, which intelligently distributes available power among the charging stations wirelessly. It also takes the building’s overall electricity consumption into account, ensuring that power capacity is optimally utilized without requiring an upgrade to the main electrical connection.
