Charging System Covering 450 Parking Spaces In a Housing Company
Product Background
In the shared parking hall of nine housing companies, there was no existing electric vehicle charging infrastructure. However, residents’ interest in charging solutions grew significantly year by year. The goal was to implement a comprehensive and scalable charging solution that would serve both current and future EV owners.
Charging readiness for all spaces – easy adoption for residents
The implemented solution was specifically designed for a shared residential parking hall, requiring a scalable and cost-effective charging infrastructure. The charging system was deployed in phases, starting with one parking area (Joutsen), which includes over 40 parking spaces. Charging readiness was established for all spaces, and 28 parking spots were equipped with 22 kW INCH Pro chargers. Following the success of the first phase, the project was expanded to three additional parking areas (Haikara, Kotka, and Kurki), where a similar charging infrastructure was implemented.
The housing company’s 450 parking space charging infrastructure has been implemented with busbars and INCH Pro chargers.
INCH Pro charging stations were selected for this project as they perfectly met the housing company’s requirements. InterControl supplied the chargers in both Type 2 socket models and fixed-cable versions, providing flexibility to accommodate the different needs of residents. The charging station’s touchscreen and MID energy meter ensure easy and safe charging. Additionally, RFID authentication enables seamless management and user-specific billing, making the solution ideal for housing companies.
The cluster-based solution for the charging stations allowed for wireless smart load management, ensuring that the total power consumption of the charging stations does not exceed the capacity of the electrical connection. This is particularly important in large parking facilities where multiple charging points are used simultaneously.
Since all parking spaces were equipped with charging readiness from the start using our E-Line MK 160A busbars, residents can activate a charging station whenever needed without requiring new cabling or electrical work. This approach brings significant long-term cost savings and enhances the value of the property.
The full-scale implementation covered a total of 450 parking spaces, all of which were pre-equipped with charging infrastructure. Overall, the solution—featuring INCH Pro charging stations and busbar power distribution—provides an efficient, durable, and intelligent charging infrastructure for large-scale parking areas, serving EV users both now and in the future.
