Housing Company Proactively Built Charging Infrastructure for All Parking Spaces

Project Background

The housing company did not initially have any electric vehicles, but they decided to prepare for the future before demand increased. The goal was to establish charging readiness for every parking space, eliminating the need for constant modifications or significant investments later on.

Housing Company Anticipatated the Growth of Electric Vehicles

The housing company implemented a complete charging infrastructure for all parking spaces without requiring additional future investments. By preparing for the rise of electric mobility, they ensured that residents could purchase an electric vehicle without needing further modifications.

InterControl supplied the charging stations, which were installed with mounting plates on the carport walls, maximizing available parking space. Existing heating boxes were retained, and the chargers were installed alongside them. Each parking space was equipped with an INCH Pro charger with a Type 2 socket, allowing flexible use for various vehicles without fixed cables.

The power distribution was achieved using InterControl’s E-Line MK 160 A busbars, enabling charging readiness for every parking spot. The site also features intelligent load management, which evenly distributes available power and prevents overloads. This system optimizes energy usage, allowing all charging points to operate simultaneously without exceeding the building’s electrical capacity.

The charging system is easy to manage, with remote billing handled by the property manager. This reduces administrative workload and simplifies payment for both residents and the housing company.

This scalable charging solution, equipped with load management, enhances the property’s appeal for current and future residents while promoting sustainable mobility.

Summary

The housing company made a forward-thinking decision, ensuring that its charging infrastructure serves residents now and in the future. Although there were no electric vehicles in the community when the charging infrastructure was initially planned, there are now seven plug-in vehicles using the system daily. The scalable and load-managed charging infrastructure ensures that the property is ready for the continued growth of electric vehicles without requiring significant additional investments.
